Hiking

Have you ever hiked a pine tree canopied mountain trail under a crystal blue sky with the scent of the pine and cedar trees permeating the very air you are breathing? My favorite is bear clover. If you haven’t you should give it a try. You would be thrilled because your destination might be a cascading sparkling waterfall that is erupting from a solid granite wall, a sparkling alpine lake, or a creek with ice cold waters that are smashing over moss covered rocks as it makes is restless journey to the sea.  How about a hike to the top of Fresno Dome (a huge chunk of granite) from where you can see half of the world?

There are a couple of organized hiking groups that can lead you to all these places, and more. Maybe you would rather set out on your own. Either way you would rather do it will be fine. But don’t forget to pack a lunch; nothing tastes better than a bologna sandwich while seated on a rock under a towering pine tree, while a squirrel drops pine cones on your head.

I know what you are doing; you are rummaging around in the closet looking for those old smelly hiking shoes and your worn out back-pack. Great, see you on the trail.
